In addition, he is a member of Editorial Review Board of Angle Orthodontist, a Peer reviewer of AJODO, EJO, PIO and other journals, and an Associate Editor in Orthodontic Craniofacial Research and AJODO-Clinical Companion. He received a 2009 CDABO Case report of the year in Boston AAO meeting and gave presentations in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2023, and 2024 AAO meetings. He published more than 200 articles in prestigious orthodontic and surgical journals and around 50 books. His subspecialty is diagnosis and treatment of Class III malocclusion, cleft and craniofacial anomalies, and artificial intelligence.

Dr. Yang is actively engaged in the professional community, with director roles within the Korean Association of Orthodontists (KAO), Korean Academy of Dental Sciences, and Korean Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He has been serving as the Associate Editor of the official scientific journal of the KAO (Korean Journal of Orthodontics) indexed in SCIE. He has also been recognized with awards like the Best Young Investigator Award from the Korean Dental Association and the title of Professor of the Year at Seoul National University Dental Hospital.
